New biomarkers may lead to sports pitch-side test for brain injury

Inflammatory biomarkers have now been identified which indicate whether the brain has suffered injury. The research team now hopes to use these new biomarkers to develop a test which can be used on the side of a sports pitch or by paramedics to detect brain injury at the scene of an incident.
